La Natividad

La Sagrada Familia is the single most impressive work of architecture I have ever been lucky enough to see. Another work of Gaudi, it would have been his masterpiece...had he not been hit by a tram while wearing grungy homeless-looking clothing and dying after spending three days in a hospital without being able to tell anyone who he was (while everyone else ran around frantically shouting his name)....His plans for the thing were then lost and it took a million years to reconstruct and guess what his blueprints looked like...yay.

This spectacular cathedral has been under construction for 80 years (ish), and is predicted to remain so for 20 more...although I heard that the Vatican won't permit its completion, because nothing can be taller than their church. I think the tallest tower (signifying Jesus Christ) will be 558 feet high. The other 4 towers (representing the 4 evangelists) are only a measly 394 feet.

There are three facades on each side of the monstrous thing represent the Glory, the Nativity, and the Passion, respectively.
